MORE OLD............AND NOT SO OLD..............FAIRFAX PICTURES

Our old museum

Looking across the Lamoille River at the Fairfax Garage, and the old St. Luke's Church. Original photo.

Cropped

The old Fairfax Fire Station, located where our museum is now.

Old Firetrucks, none of which are now in service, I THINK. This picture was taken after we moved to the new station, but we cleared all the trucks out to do something to the floor(?). So the trucks were moved here for a little while, and it made a great picture.

Hard to believe, but there are some people in town that are new, and never saw the old iron bridge that sat there since the '27 Flood. It was removed in 1986 to make way for the bridge that is there now. Original photo.

Cropped.

I remember the old fire station, having just joined the rescue squad.  Backing the ambulance in and out of the bay was a bear!  Had about 1 or 2 inches on each side of the mirriors!

It was torn down and replaced with this one in 1987.
