That's so cool. I am glad you all resurrected this tradition and have grown it and made it so wonderful.
I hope the Barkyoumb family also sees this, as it was eggs from their farm that were used back when.  I am thinking they would also be proud of you guys.
Kudos!!!

Mr. Raymond, I posted a bunch on Facebook, please feel free to show any you would like!

Yes, we have a high participation rate in extracurricular activities.  But that is far from the whole story.  And it doesn't make our test scores rise. And obviously hasn't.  Check it for yourself.

I feel like the kids are treated as potential perpetrators rather than kids that make mistakes and need support and guidance.   When I went to BFA many years ago, kids that needed help got if and an effort was made to keep them in school, not remove them at the first opportunity.  That's the difference between Dick Brown and Michael Clark.

I so remember that!!!
We as neighborhood children in the village of Fairfax were dispatched by our parents to clean up branches and small trees.
I have never heard such a sound in my life as I did that night.
I was a terrified 10 year old that night.

The parade was so much fun last year.
I can't wait for it this year!

I work at UHC and it shook pretty good. A lot of people temporarily left the building. The building rocked for a while, then settled down.

Couldn't happen to a nicer kid and they couldn't have made a better choice.
Way to go Seth!!

Current News & Events / Re: Manure Truck Hits Building In St. Albans

I agree. This is an agricultural state and there are far worse things than manure that get hauled!
Farmers are the back bone of this state.
All the farmers I know are very conscientious about their equipment and not blocking traffic.

As a public safety threat, they are minimal.
Now ATV's around here, that's another story....literally on this forum.

To resurrect an old saying: Don't talk about Farmers with your mouth full.

Shawn was a dear friend of my brother Bill's growing up. I never knew Shawn to say a bad word about anyone the whole time I knew him. My heart goes out to he and his Family.
He was truly a wonderful guy.

Current News & Events / Fairfax Summer concert Series! Comment
« on: June 27, 2011, 06:55:38 AM »
Hi all,
I am not sure if you all know, but there is a very nice concert series going on in town this year on Tuesday evenings.
Someone took the initiative to get a grant from the Vermont arts council and National Endowment for the arts, so we have music right in our back yard.
I attended last week and saw Carol Jones and her trio, which was wonderful.
This week it is the Fairfax, Fletcher, Westford band.
Bring your own lawn chairs and enjoy! They are held right in front of the middle school.

(I honestly do not know who the wonderful folks were who got the grant, but others can feel free to add to this post)

So sorry to hear that.
We are all so proud of him and glad he is safely home.
I hope the banner is returned.

Current News & Events / Re: Fairfax/Windsor Game Updates
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:40:15 PM »
I would definitely say there were more Fairfax fans than Windsor Fans there.
The boys played hard and showed class at all times.
There were few dry eyes as they lined up facing the fans to sing the school song one last time.
If heart was the measure, we'd have won.
Having said that, Windsor is a very talented team and I was impressed to see our team seek out #22 for Windsor who had to rush for close to 400 yards to congratulate him. Class all the way.

No one could have asked more in effort from our boys. Very proud of them.

Current News & Events / Re: BFA cutting down on the arts?

Does anyone have any updates from the meeting?

I am concerned about this issue as well.

There is no requirement for open bidding on a private business. Many were interested, few knew it was an option until it was done.

As for why, it's no secret. If you think about who owned it and what their situation is.

I can tell you that Debbie Fleming has extensive food industry knowledge and having her involved gives me great hope for the new management.
I'm hoping for a new and improved Country Pantry.
