Tuesday, November 5, 9:30-10:30 am: Preschool Story Hour: Building Bridges

Join us for themed stories, songs, and activities for ages 0-6. Free.

Wednesday November 6, 3-4 pm: After-school Craft with Nicole:  Awesome Aquariums

Join Nicole Vance, local artist, for this fun activity! There will a fun zentangle option for older kids. Free, ages 6+.   Pre-register at the library. Limit of 15 registrants.

Thursday, November 7, 6 – 8 pm: VT Health Connect

Join navigators from NOTCH and Franklin County Regional Chamber of Commerce for an overview of Vermont Health Connect, the new insurance marketplace for individuals and small businesses which opened in October. Navigators will be able to answer your questions about enrolling in health insurance. There will also be individual appointments available for more in-depth help. No registration necessary for the open forum, but must pre-register for individual appointments. 849-2420.

Saturday, November 9, 10 – noon: Knitting with Annette

Bring your current project, patterns which might be giving trouble, or your knitting problem to Annette, and she’ll try to help. Crocheters and other needleworkers and fiber artists are also welcome. Pre-register, limit 12 participants.

Wednesday, November 13, 3:15-4:15  R.E.A.D. to a Dog

Kids can read a book of their choice to a fuzzy, friendly dog. To sign-up for a 15-minute time slot, call 849-2420 or stop by the library. Ages 5-10. Must pre-register.

Thursday, November 14, 2013, 6:30-8 pm: Fall VHC Book Discussion of Ahab’s Wife

For our fall Vermont Humanities book series, we will be reading four novels that all re-imagine classic works of fiction, retelling them from a different character’s perspective. In our third discussion meeting, Cheryl Heneveld, a scholar of literature, will be facilitating a discussion on Ahab’s Wife (this is a retelling of Moby Dick, by Herman Melville). Books will be available at the library to sign out in advance of the discussion. Join us, everyone is welcome!

Join local artist Judy Taylor as you learn the basics of wirework and beading while making a pair of earrings. Ages 10+. $5 for materials payable at class. Must pre-register. Limit of 12 participants.
