I remember of having the option to spend an hour picking rocks or an hour of detention. I always chose the rocks.

Political Issues/Comments / Re: and we're off!

It wasnt long ago that a mailing went out with Chris's name on it bashing Gary Gilbert and giving him an F on his work as a Legislator. I was disgusted to see it and actually could not believe what I was reading. Gary Gilbert was my teacher and Coach. He gave me detention more than any other teacher that I had and rightfully so. He also is a man that I surely have not heard  him  speak negatively about an opponent and surely not do it in writing. I hate negative politics, and it does make a differance to me how I vote. Speak your mind, Never compromise your principals.

Last night I saw a coy-dog in the Rec Dept parking lot and then a fox this morning. There were only 7 roosters, according to a friend their is a dead rooster on the rec path somewhere. It didnt take much, Bob and I just herded them to the tennis courts and once inside cornered them. Bob was the real handler, I got attacked on my first shot then figured it out. Shock and Awe.  The 7 roosters are now living at a wonderfull home in North Fairfax. Thanx Jenn.

Thank you for clarifying that Trevor, I just have a problem with the word "dirt" being used instead of the word "Democracy".

I really would like our Selectboard to act on this womans request to provide the missing information from the Town Report and to clarify all the mistakes.

The BFA Boys Basketball team is headed back to Barre. They will play in the Semi-Finals Thursday night at 8:15 pm against Hazen. The 4 teams that made the Final 4 are all form the Mountain Division. #1 Lake Region versus # 4 Winooski and #2 Hazen versus the #3 Bullets. Who says Southern Basketball is better than us?  Bfa has had a great run this school year and last and continue to put are tiny town on the map. The Thetford Athletic Director told me last night that we have a great facility and fans.
In the Fall, our girls made it to the Semis in soccer, our Boys shocked people with their youthfull squad, our Football team made the playoffs and came within inches of playing in the State Championship game. The pig flu put a halt to both our Girls and Boys from running away with the Cross Country Champuionship.
I predict the Boys will beat Hazen by 2, and make back to back appearances in the Championship game. ( Also done in 1965 and 1966 )  (Look at these 2 trophys in the Trophy case, You will recognize some familiar names) Mr. Richard Brown was the Coach of both Teams. Sorry Mr. Brown, I still cant't  call you Dick. Weve never won a State Championship in Boys Basketball.
Last but not least i see our Girls and Boys Nordic skiing team running away with a State Championship for each.
I cant forget the Cheerleaders, they had to move up to Division 1 with Rice, Essex etc.... because there too good for d-2. I see us very challenged to ever see us winning a Cheerleader State Title in this Division.  It is possible.
Softball and Baseball will be starting soon. I prdict another Titlse shot for the Girls in Softball and the Baseball team to be right there in the end to play their best ball and pull off the ultimate upset.
Our Sports Teams (and band, and chorus, and drama) are doing a great deal of free advertising for our little Town. Thanx to all the Coaches, Support staff (They work their arses off to make it all happen) but mostly Thank you "The Fan, The Community and everyone else for supporting the extra-curricular activities at school  We've got a great thing going here.

I would like to commend the woman who spoke up later in the meeting during ( I Think) the Article "of other Towns business"..  She asked that if it were possible to include or do a separate mailing of all the corrections to the budget since we all know mistakes are made. She went into the difficulty of this increddible task, that the work of the Selectboard is fully appreciated for this task. She mentioned that she does a lot of research on other Town budgets or whatever but made it very clear to me and I agree with her, There should be a correction notice sent so that everyone is informed and happy. The historical data is key. I too have been looking at historical data and it is very important to get accurate numbers. I am a firm believer in the more information you give means less headaches. So, What I got out of Town Meeting is agreeing with this woman that all of the information with changes be posted.
