The last I heard from him was from a note he asked someone to send out that said they were planning to get him up the next morning after the operation - He was having plenty of medication for pain.

Hi, got an email from Mary (Dick's friend) and said Dick is doing well.  No pain which must seem good.  Watch out Florida, Dick Brown will be on the loose.

I received a note this morning from a friend of Dick Brown's regarding his recovery:

"Just a short note to update you on Dick's recovery.  Progress has been slower that expected due to several health issues that needed to be addressed before he could precede to Rehab.   He is expecting to be transferred to Acute Rehab either today or tomorrow, but most likely it will be tomorrow.   Surgical pain has been at a minimum and the pain he had prior to surgery is nearly gone.  Now he needs to regain the strength he has lost over the past few years.............................."

Dick has been moved to Acute Rehab (same hospital).  Therapy is very intense from 7:30 to 4 each day, with planned times for rest and meals.  He is very determined to regain the strength and mobility that he has lost over the past few years. He also expresses to Surgeon how successful the procedure was, as his pain is gone.  He wants you all to know how much he appreciates your emails and cards.............................Mary

Just received the following note from Mary regarding Dick Brown:

"Just an update.  Dick may end his 5 week hospital odyssey tomorrow.  He is still very weak but has make great progress.  The important part is that he is pain free and has been almost from day of surgery..................Mary"

Mary,

Tell Dick the Florida McNall's wish him well !!  He's  as tough as they come,  I'm sure he will overcome this minor bump in the road ..  and be better for it in the end.
