Patriots Youth Football News

With the Patriots first year under their belt in the Northern Vermont Youth Football League, the organization is beginning a new season and is actively in pursuit of the 2004 Championship.  The program has had tremendous player interest.  For the 2004 season, there will be over 40 Flag players in grades 2 - 4 participating, with another 30+ on each tackle team; 5/6 & 7/8 grades, bringing the number of youth football players to 100+.   Many of these players are participating in football for the first time.

Thirteen Patriots recently attended the Vermont All-Star Football Camp at South Burlington High School.  Congratulations go out to Kyle Mead and Mark McNall who were awarded “Most Improved Player Awards.”

New for the 2004 season is Patriots Cheerleading!  Coaching the Patriots Cheerleaders are Jody Mossey and Michelle Brown.  Assisting are Danielle Haley, Emily Littler, Gabe Grant, Maria Thatcher, and Allison and Ashley Parah.  Look for a lot of action at the football field this Fall as the Patriots tackle teams will be playing three home games in September and October and the Pats Cheerleaders supporting their team.   Tackle games begin at 8am for 5/6 and 10am for 7/8

We hope to see you at the field this fall cheering on your Patriots!

BFA-Fairfax JV Club Football News

Submitted By:  Friends of Fairfax Football Communications Committee

A lot has been happening to establish a high school football team at BFA-Fairfax over the past spring and summer months.  Many of you have donated time, volunteered to work fundraising events, or just supported financially.  Over $26,000 has been fundraised thus far by hardwork and a dedicated group of over twenty individuals.

The volunteer coaching staff and players recently participated in a summer passing league program.  Many varsity teams from around Chittenden County participate in this Tuesday/Thursday night scrimmage event at Milton and Essex High School.  The players from BFA-Fairfax gained experience and confidence as they competed against many Division I, II, and III Varsity programs featuring primarily juniors and seniors.

Eight BFA-Fairfax freshmen recently attended the Vermont All-Star Football camp at South Burlington High School.  Congratulations go out to Josh Boucher, Ethan Klauzenberg, and Maxx McNall who were awarded “Most Improved Player Awards.”

The Friends of Fairfax Football wishes to thank the following organizations and families for making this program possible.   We also thank the many people that have donated through coin drops, bottle drives, or through other fundraising events.  Ben & Jerry’s Community Action Team Grant - $500, National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame Grant - $1,000, NFL Youth Football Fund Grant - $500, Ronald McDonald House Charities Grant – $2,000, Alan Mossey & Sons, Inc., AmCare Ambulance Service, April Cornell, Avon by Julie Lauzon, Banknorth, B.C.
