FAIRFAX TOWN OFFICE

PC MEMBERS PRESENT: G. Heyer, M. Hunziker, A. Lemieux, R. Wimble, P. Hudson

PUBLIC PRESENT: S. Taylor, B. Omerod, J. Cleary, J. Blake, C. Steen, C. Streets, J. Heyer, C. Swanson, L. Hayes

The meeting was called to order by G. Heyer at 7:00PM. This was a special joint session called by the Planning Commission, to include the Selectboard and the DRB.  The intent was to discuss the recommended changes to the current Bylaws and Zoning Regulations. Discussion centered on: relevance, vagueness, retail sales, home business, SWIP, and density, to mention a few.  Many changes were made, and some of these issues will need further discussion by the Planning Commission.  The Boards will continue the joint discussion next week, October 10th at 7:30 PM. The Planning Commission felt this joint meeting was very beneficial.

C. Steen spoke about using Studies as a tool for the DRB.  Studies change and probably should not be referenced in the Bylaws.   G. Heyer signed a letter to the Vermont Land Trust regarding land conservation. S. Taylor talked about Grants and the Planning Commission will apply for a grant to work on the Town Plan in 2007.  A. Lemiuex is still concerned that the current Sewer Ordinance does not match the intent of growth in the Growth Center. Current uses that are allowed in various districts were discussed. The minutes from September 19, 2006 were discussed.  M. Hunziker recommended one change.  M. Hunziker made a motion to accept the Minutes from September 19th as amended, A. Lemieux second.  All in favor.

10:00 PM: M. Hunziker made a motion to adjourn.  P. Hudson second.  All in favor.

Next meeting will be on October 10, 2006 at 7:30 PM.

Respectfully Submitted,

Cathy Raymond, Planning and Zoning Assistant
