Heyer called the meeting to order. David Brown was welcomed as a new member of
the Planning Commission. The minutes
from May 6, 2008 were reviewed. M. Hunziker made a motion to approve the
minutes from May 6, 2008. A.
Lemieux second. G. Heyer, A. Lemieux, M.
Hunziker and R. Wimble in favor.
M Hunziker had thoroughly
reviewed the latest draft of the Town Plan. He complimented G. Brunswick for
doing such a great job on the draft.
After the few changes from tonight’s discussion on the draft are made,
it will be ready to be submitted to the Selectboard. Additional copies will be available for the public before the
first hearing. A. Lemieux will pick-up
the drafts in St. Albans on Monday June 9, 2008. The draft needs to be mailed out to officials and neighboring
towns by June 12, 2008. G. Brunswick
will post the public notices in the St. Albans Messenger and the Buyer’s Digest
at least 30 days before the first Public Hearing which will take place on July
15, 2008. Copies of the Public Notice will also be posted in three places in
Fairfax. G. Brunswick may send postcards to each Postal Patron in Fairfax
to announce the Public Hearing. C. Raymond will make arrangements for a room at
the school for the first public hearing.
Other areas that were
discussed include energy, the Capital Budget, and steep slopes. Three possible Land Use Maps were discussed,
as well as a map of the Forest Legacy Area.
A condensed version of the Lamoille River Basin Plan will be included in
the Town Plan. G. Brunswick asked the
Board to consider the possibility of having a representative join the Lamoille
Water Shed Council.
10 PM M. Hunziker made a motion to adjourn. A. Lemieux second. All in
favor.
The next meeting will be on June 17, 2008.
