FAIRFAX PLANNING COMMISSION                        Tuesday, May 8, 2012

 

Members Present: G. Heyer; R. Wimble; M. Hunziker; D. Brown

7:03 PM- G. Heyer called the meeting to order.

 

The members continued to review the updates for the 2013 Town Plan.  New copy was received for Chapter 6 (Education) from the Franklin West Supervisory Union which the Board will review. Additional copy was received from the Cemetery Commission, Fire Department, Water and Sewer Department, and Library.

 

There was discussion about whether Northwest Regional Planning will be updating demographics and statistics throughout the entire document, and what their timetable may be.  Skip will contact NWRP and suggested that he and Martha sit down with them to compare notes and finalize these changes.

 

Skip will take new photographs for the updated Plan.

 

Martha will contact the Selectboard Assistant (Stacey Wells) for updates on Solid Waste,  the Board of Civil Authority, Town Ordinances and Bylaws, and sidewalks.

 

There was discussion on well capacity and allotments available, and the ‘Fit and Healthy’ language that will be added to the Plan.  Also discussed was the progress of the Vision Committee and whether Planning Commission members should attend those meetings.

 

M. Hunziker moved to accept the minutes from the April 11, 2012 meeting; D. Brown  2nd.  All in favor.

 

The next meeting of the Planning Commission will be Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Town Office.  The members will review Chapters 9 and 11, plus any additional copy received before that meeting.  Chapter 10 will be forwarded to the Selectboard for review; Skip will update Chapter 11; NWRP will update Chapter 12.
