PLANNING COMMISSION Tuesday, February 21, 2012

7:00PM G. Heyer called the meeting to order.
M. Hunziker moved to
approve the minutes from the February 7, 2012 meeting, as amended; R. Wimble 2nd. All in favor.
Vision Committee
Skip Taylor told the Board about the Vision Committees March and April schedule. Because of scheduling conflicts, the Planning Commission scheduled its meetings in March for the 2nd and 3rd Tuesdays.
The Board decided to alternate members to attend Vision Committee meetings. Scheduled dates through April are:

Town Plan Update
The Board will focus on Chapters 1 and 2 of the 2008 Town Plan at the next meeting. Discussion included possible additions to the History chapter (Chapter 2), perhaps reaching out to the Historical Society or Henry Raymond for additional input.
Each future meeting will focus on rewrites of additional Chapters of the current Plan to update them as needed.
There was additional discussion on public input for the 2013 Town Plan.
Skip informed the Board that there was a list on Henry Raymonds
website under his Public Forum section on what Fairfax needs? It was decided that the Zoning Office would
print this list out for both the Planning Commission and the Vision Committee. There was additional discussion about
building an outdoor ice rink similar to the one in Westford.
There was discussion regarding the proposed new Town Office and the scheduled presentations on February 22 and at Town Meeting.
The next meeting of the Planning Commission will be Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7PM at the Town Office.
