I'm pretty sure I saw a bald eagle fishing in the Lamoille yesterday morning. I can't recall any other recent sightings, so I may be wrong. Can anyone confirm?

Cale and I were in my pool two days ago when we saw
what we thought might have been
a bald eagle, floating on the breeze.

With the sun in my eyes, and some chlorine water in there too,
I don't think this is a confirmation, but we saw something big and beautiful
watching over a peaceful day in paradise.

Take Care & God Bless,

I have seen one over on the Magnan farm a couple times this summer.

I thought I saw one last month, but was sure I was mistaken. I guess I may very well have seen it.

I know that Bald Eagles visit Vermont from time to time, and in the summer of 2004 , before we came south , there was an article in the St. Albans Messenger about both the Ospreys on Lake Arrowhead and also an Eagle sighting in the same area. I tried canoing down there at that time, but only saw the Osprey's nests . Still , I believe that the sightings in Fairfax and subsequent close areas are very valid since the bald Eagle has made a remarkable comeback, according to Federal Officials, and the trophy trout stocking in the Lamoille East of the village provide a decent food source for a few weeks.

i have seen two bald eagles in vt. the first was down in weybridge when i was working for g. w. tatro. we were putting an under drain in a road which was near the otter creek. when we stopped for lunch qa co worker said look at that. the eagle was perched in a tree near where we were sitting. he stayed there most of the afyternoon then flew off over the creek. he was there the next day also but in a tree accross the creek. the second one was at willow crossing in johnson this spring. he was perched in a tree where the river comes up near the road.

I live on the Lamoille and I watch the birds all the time.  This morning I saw a bald eagle.  It's only the second one I've seen here in over 20 years, the first was about 8 years ago.  They are beautiful birds!

In the late 1960s, we saw a single eagle several summers cruising over the river, assumed it was always the same one.  I hadn't seen one around here for quite a while until last fall, when I took the picture below on the bank of the Lamoille just downstream of the village.  We've also seen an eagle in Fairfax a couple of times this summer.

When I was on my way to work on Friday at 6:00 am, a juvenile bald eagle soared over my car towards the river near Skunk Hill Road.  I was pretty sure then, but now I feel certain!
