Last tuesday, I attended a grant awards ceremony in the house chamber at the State House, where Fairfax Parks and Recreation was awarded a grant for $15,000 towards building a restroom facility and pavilion in the park. Trevor Russell, Chair of the Recreation Board attended the awards ceremony with me. - We were asked to stay for the tree lighting.

Katrina, Trevor & all involved,

Thank you for volunteering your time and talent to the Citizens of Fairfax!  I am sure that you have both spent countless volunteer hours applying for this grant.

The new facilities that will be built using this money will benefit people for years to come.

Thank you very much

Yes David, Katrina has put in COUNTLESS hours (many times volunteer hours) working on grant applications (you win some, you loose some....) and many other rec-dept issues.  She's a great asset to the town and we're all very fortunate to have her!  Thanks Katrina!

Katrina,

If you get really good at writing grants, you may want to think about doing it on a consulting basis for other small municipalities.  There are companies that provide this specific service.
