The BFA Varsity Girls play Oxbow AWAY at 7:00 p.m. today!

The Varsity Girls will travel the long haul to Oxbow today for the first round of single elimination Playoffs.  Oxbow is a tough team - having played most of the southern Division 3 powerhouses already with success.  The BFA Girls will need to bring their GameFaces today, along with their best Defense, shooting and energy levels if they want to compete.  Wish us luck and good shooting!
Come out and support your Local BFA Girls Basketball team.

BFA JV girls lost to Lake Region by only 9 points this time - 21 pts better than their last 6 meetings.  They lead by 5 at one point as well.  Look for the rematch to be a battle of will powers.

Varsity lost by 20, but held Lake Region to 14 pts in the first 15 minutes of the second half - an awesome testament to BFA's defense and strength of will.

Sorry y'all - i've VERY Behind with my updates.  BIG NEWS though - The Varsity Girls WON a hard fought game against Enosburg the other night - breaking a 6-7 year straight losign streak against the Lady Hornets.  It was a classic and extremely excitign basketball game - with BFA coming back from an 8 pt deficit and tieng the game up with a buzzer beater at the half.  Look for the update in the sports section by next week!

Nice win for the JV last night.
You're doing a heck of a job, Coach.

bump - 2nd Richford game tonight at home! Both teams won!

Highlight of the JV game - when a Richford girl - who didn't get to play much in games let alone shoot and score, and we let try to do so in our first meeting, made a shot.  The whole corwd erupted as well as both teams on the floor and benches.

So have enjoyed watching both JV & V girls teams! Play well as a team & lots credit goes to coaching too!  Seems like V girls struggle a little more taking a shot sometimes.  Don't try, surely won't go in!  Last night outside shots proved that!  Foul shots not their strong point lately; practice makes perfect!  Follow your shot! Hands up defense! Play your bench! All things I'd like to shout but I will keep eating my lollipops to try to stay quiet!  Good job - effort!  keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback - shooting has been in recent history, a weak point for the girls.  Something i know the JVs devout a reasonable chunk of every practice to.

JV played a considerably better gam against a confused Ensoburg last night. They kept it close all game - within 6, until the last quarter when Ensoburg inched it's way up to a 12 point lead.  Even though the scoreboard showed a 12 point disparrity, the game showed a truly different story.  The JV girls have come A LONG way in terms of mental poise and smarter game play.  One thing that's always been present is their unwaiverign spirit and energy on defense and throughout the game.  Coach Banach was extremely pleased and proud of the type of game they played.
the Varsity Girls played a symphonic first half of excellent movement on defense - which held Enosburgs star player to 3 pts, great passing and sharp shooting.
the second half shots didn't fall - some passes didn't get to where they were meant to, and a few bad calls put a little damper on that symphony.  But make no mistake - the Varsity girls played their hearts out - probably one of the best and consistent games they've played this season.  They're excitign and fun to watch and will do good things in the remaining games.
