The Fire Dept. needs your help with Calcutta ticket sales. This is our yearly fundraiser and we need a set of safety jacks that this Calcutta will pay for. We have less than a month to sell the all our tickets. We only sell 98 tickets and we haven't sold half of them yet. Please call one of the three Firemen listed below or print out this for and send it in. As always your help is greatly appreciated.

Dear Friend & Supporter,

The Fairfax Fire Department will be hosting its eighth annual Calcutta. This will be our main fund-raiser for the year.
This year as in the past we will sell only 98 tickets at $100.00 each and raffle off ticket #99 and #100 that evening for $10.00 a ticket.  The winners have another chance at the prize money.  At the end of the raffle, there will be four drawings from among the non-winning tickets for $50.00 each. You must be present to win non-winning draw. The $100.00 ticket will include two dinners.  The dinner and drawing will be held at Smugglers Notch Meeting House in the village on Saturday evening, October 03, 2009.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. there will be a full cash bar available; a full buffet will be served at 7:00 p.m.  The raffle will follow the meal. Dessert and coffee will be served during this time.  You do not need to be present to win draw 1 thru 100.  If additional people wish to attend the meal, the cost will be $20.00 per person.
The schedule of prize money ($4000.00) is as follows:
Draw #1   $100.00   Draw #80   $100.00   Draw #97   $175.00
Draw #10   $100.00   Draw #90   $100.00   Draw #98   $200.00

We are still in need of help, there are still available tickets.
[/pre]

Thanks to everyone who has purchase a ticket this year and in years passed.  Hopefully if we sell out we will be able to use the money this year on a set of Rescue Jacks. These are used to stablize a car to get the pasengers out safely. After seeing these used a couple of times in the last year, we have decided we need a set here in Fairfax so we are not waiting for a neighboring town to bring theres in. Saving time and hopefully allowing use to work car accidents safer in the future.

Another bump and a few comments..

This is for a great cause and the money raised for equipment may benefit you or a loved one someday.

If you were "thinking about" purchasing a ticket but haven't found the time now would be a good time to make your contribution.

The dinner is great and included in the price of the ticket.

Times are tough.  Splitting a ticket ( the cost and possible winnings !! ) with friends or family may be an option.  Now sure how you would split the dinner ???

Little off topic.  Henry ..  I did see you in the hallway last night at the chicken pie dinner but didn't have time to come over and say hi.  We did make eye contact and being one of the 'beverage servers' I thought I would get a chance to say hi during the meal.   I hadn't thought about 'take outs'.

On the good side I didn't spill any liquid of any type on any of our guests.
