Back when I moved to Fairfax in the early 50s, I remember quite often, seening this little blond haired kid walking down the road with fishing pole in hand, headed for a little fishing in The Lamoille River.  From what I could see, he was always pretty much into hunting and fishing as a past time.  Got a couple of notes from him recently and he told me he had some old slides from his days in Vietnam converted to photos and asked me if I had an interest in seeing them.  Definitely being an old local history buff and always enjoying some old photos, told him would truly enjoy seeing them if he had some photos of himself or some other local personalities.  He sent me some photos today, so I have posted them here for you.  I am sure that when you old timers see these you will recognize him as he looked back some 40+ years ago:




I also felt this would be a good opportunity to post Richard's note regarding his thankfulness for the many toys donated at Christmas for the needy:

I JUST WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU THAT BEING SECOND HIGHEST PERSON IN THE MARINE CORPS LEAGUE FOR ST ALBANS,,,,,,,,I REALLY GOT A JOY FROM HAVING SO MANY TOYS AND BEING ABLE TO GIVE SOME TO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HERE IN FAIRFAX ALSO SOME NEEDY FAMLIES IN FAIRFIELD AND BEING ABLE TO GIVE LOTS TO UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE IN ST.ALBANS FOR DISTRIBTION...I WAS TOLD SOME PEOPLE ACTULLY CRIED BEING SO HAPPY WITH TOYS.......ONE OF OUR DONATIONS WAS 41 BICYCLES,,,,VERY NICE ..JUST WANTED TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU..........RICHARD WARREN
