WIth 4 diehards and 1 freshman showing up, Coach Driscoll, Coach Banach, and Al the Varsity Trainer, split up to play some 4 on 4.  First 30 minutes were 3vs3 until 2 more girls showed up.  And a gueling 30 minutes it was.  with only 3 players on your team, there's constant motion and flashing goign on.

4on4 proved to be just as gueling as we opened it up to full court runs.  This iswhere the soccer players really take advantage of their conditioning.  Casey B and Olivia R have really solidified their game converting consistently.  Speed is going to be our main asset this year and from the looks of it, some real good court presence and smarts are developing as well.

We'll be having the last summer session tonight due to Soccer starting next week.  All in all it's been a good experience for all.  As always you wish you could get more players to come out but alas, even the most dedicated and passionate players sometimes have other plans/commitments.

Getting ready for this season takes a lot of work - especially if you want to be successful.  These summer sessions were a way for some kids who Wouldn't have otherwise had a chance to go to a basketball camp let alone play any basketball this summer, to get some personal coaching and training where they wouldn't have.  Coach Jim, Coach Frank, and Coach Banach were there to help these players get better - there was no pay, just the opportunity to help players who wanted to get better.

WIll update on the last session next week.

Well, had our last session last week.  Was a pretty good showing too!  Worked on basics and essentials that would make the most difference in anyone's game.  Last showing had a incomign freshman, a few JV's from last year and a few Returning Varsity.  Coach banach was a bit disappointed there was no scrimmage at the end - as he was feeling the mojo from downtwon and anywhere else he fired them up from.
The sessions were a good source of training fro some players who wouldn't normally get any offseason.  They definitely yielded almost instaneous results as well.  UGGGHHHHHHH 3 months to opening day of b-ball season.
