Mark's parents used to own the business where Nan's Mobile is now.

It is with great sadness that the family of Mark J. Sylvester announces his peaceful passing at 2:22 AM on Feb. 21, 2022 after a prolonged illness. He lived with his daughter, Melinda in Barnet at Sandra Garands residence. He had two very special caregivers, Lee and Frankie, that made sure all of his needs were met and provided for, as well as keeping him laughing and dancing to his favorite Classic Rock music. They developed a very special friendship and bond.

He was happy to reconnect with his old friends, Mike Fitzpatrick, Dave White, Mark Dekoyer, Derek Thuraiaiyah, James (Jacques) Robitaille, Travis Cady, Doug Bandy and Stacy and Dickie Dwyer. He had many people that spent numerous hours of their free time picking up groceries, sanding the driveway, and going to the recycling center. A big thank-you to Mike Sumner, Adam Favoreau, Jody Degree, and Collin Russell.

He was surrounded by his loving children, Melinda and Andrew in his last days. He was also able to enjoy a nice long visit with his mom, Jeannean and sister, Patricia who made the trek from Enosburg Falls.

Mark was born in St. Albans, VT on May 14, 1961 making Mother’s Day more special. His mom says he was her shadow for most of his youth.

He was predeceased by his younger brother Little Scott born on June 7,1962 and passed away on June 20, 1962. He was also predeceased by his loving father Larry R. Sylvester on July 17, 2015. He idolized his dad and would tell everyone that he had a wonderful childhood.

Mark graduated from Lamoille Union High School specializing in building trades Class of 1980. He then married his high school sweetheart, Cindy Tourangeau in St Isidore's Parish in Montgomery Center, VT where both his parents and grandparents were wed.

Mark worked for Dave Legendre’s builders for many years and then Started his own carpentry business of Sylvester and Sons builders until 2020.

Mark is survived by his Mother Jeannean (Lumbra) Sylvester, Sister Patricia Martell and her husband Tom and her son Bryan Rodger and his son Khane. His daughter Melinda Sylvester and her two children Joseph and Jaylin. His son Andrew and his two children Landen and Adrien. His uncle, aunts and several cousins.

The family would like to thank all of his Northern Counties hospice team members, Dr. Mary Ready, His spiritual counselor, Anne Hawkridge, all of the nurses and aides for the excellent care and attention given to him.

Mark never lost his sense of humor or gave up hope. He will be truly missed. The Family wishes to hold a celebration of life at a later date. A W Rich Funeral Home in Fairfax, Vt is in charge of all of his arrangements. Please visit awrfh.com to share your memories and condolences.
