The Fairfax Community Library will be offering the following programs in May:

Youth Events

Thursday and Friday, May 6 & 7, 4 pm: Mother's Day Photo Holder
Mother's Day is just around the corner! Learn how to make a cute, simple photo holder to display all of your happy memories. Pick up your materials at the library on Thursday between 3 and 7, and watch the Facebook livestream on Friday at 4. The video will remain available afterwards, so don't worry if you miss it! Ages 6+ Please register!

Thursday and Friday, May 20 & 21, 4 pm: Grassy Fairy Houses
Make a cute little house with real grass growing on it! Pick up your materials at the library on Thursday between 3 and 7, and watch the Facebook livestream on Friday at 4. The video will remain available afterwards, so don't worry if you miss it! Ages 6+ Please register!

Thursday and Friday, May, 27 & 28, 4 pm: Galaxy in a Bottle
Make your own galaxy in a bottle! Pick up your materials at the library on Thursday between 3 and 7, and watch the Facebook livestream on Friday at 4. The video will remain available afterwards, so don't worry if you miss it! Ages 6+ Please register!

April 27 - May 7: Arbor Day Celebrations
Stop by the library during curbside pickup and grab an Arbor Day activity packet, filled with fun craft ideas and a scavenger hunt to help you celebrate Arbor Day! There will also be an Arbor Day photo contest! Submit a photo of you and/or your family to gwen.kozlowski@uvm.edu to be entered into a statewide raffle, and to libraryfairfax@gmail.com to be entered into our own local raffle. Further details on the photo contest will be included with the activity packet.
These activity packs are first come, first serve - no sign up required!

Wednesdays and Saturdays from May 5 to June 30, 4 pm and 9 am: Kids Yoga with Jessica Turner
Join Jessica for twice weekly kids yoga classes! Classes start Wednesday, May 5 at 4 pm, and continue until June 30. Sign up for the full course, or pick and choose the classes you want to attend! Starting May 19, Wednesday classes will be hosted outside (weather permitting) with Zoom as a rain day option. To sign up, or for more information, follow the eventbrite link here!

Star Wars Coding Challenge
Learn the basics of programming with Rey and BB-8, and celebrate Star Wars Day with some coding! Try out the game here!

Saturday, May 29, 1 pm: Virtual Knitting Club
Relax and chat while working on your latest knitting or crochet project! If you would like some basic knitting materials, let us know and they will be provided at curbside pickup on Thursday from 3 to 7. Join the Zoom meeting on Saturday at 1 pm! Please register with libraryfairfax@gmail.com to receive the zoom link!

Thursday and Friday, May 13 & 14, 7 pm: Make your own seed bombs!
Add some fun to your spring gardening and learn how to make seed bombs! These are great to give as gifts, and to make with kids - with some adult supervision of course. Pick up your materials at the library on Thursday between 3 and 7, and join the Zoom meeting on Friday at 7 pm. Please register to receive the zoom link!

Thursday, May 27th, 6:30-8:00 pm: Virtual Book Club
The Library Book Club will meet on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 6:30 pm. Weather permitting, we will meet outside at the library. Book club book will be announced soon! To request a copy of the book for curbside pickup, please call the library or send an email to fairfaxlibrarian@gmail.com. or call us at 849-2420. All are welcome!
