Fairfax - Maryann Armand (Pigeon) Zeno, 93 passed away on Sunday September 2, 2018 at her home in Fairfax. Maryann was born in Westshefford, Quebec on July 22, 1925 daughter of the late Dorile and Eva (Beaugard) Pigeon. She married John P. Zeno on September 17, 1949 in Fairfax.

Mom always looked forward to her Saturday night square dancing dates with Dad. She lovingly sewed, knitted and crocheted many Christmas presents over the years for all of the children, including special stuffed animals for them. Through the years she raised over 30 foster care children. Her home was always open to anyone wanting to visit without announcement. Many visitors enjoyed her famous saltine crackers with mustard and grilled cheese sandwiches. Each year she cultivated a large vegetable garden which produced a bountiful amount of food for her family. She rarely missed a Sunday Mass at St. Lukes Church prior to her stroke in 2013. Faith and family were her priorities and she will be genuinely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maryann leaves her children and their spouses: John P. Zeno, Jr. and wife Kathy of Fairfax; Robert Paquette and wife Bonnie of Florida; Allen Simoneau and wife Sal of Fletcher; Eddie Weeks and wife Candy of Alburgh; Louis Peterson and wife Eileen of Missouri; Joe Erno and wife Margaret of St. Albans; JoAnne Champagne and husband John of Swanton; Marie Bourdeau and husband Mark of Fairfax; Mary Henwood of Oklahoma; Lillian Ripley of New Jersey; her sister Theresa Reynolds and husband Lynwood “Buddy” of Westford; two sisters-in-law Grace Pigeon, Blanche Zeno, stepbrothers and stepsisters: Raymond and June Leclair of South Burlington; Hector Leclair and his partner Sue LaChance of Essex; Norma Jean Leclair of Colchester; Alice Perry and her partner Harold Vance of Warrenton, VA; Richard Leclair of Fairfax; Marcel and Gloria “Lolly” Leclair of Colchester; Clyde “Junior” and Ann Drinkwine of Westford; Angie and William “Bill” Meltzer of Westford; a special friend for over 70 years Carman Sibley, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.

She was also predeceased by her husband John P Zeno, Sr. on November 6, 1991; her brother Leo Pigeon, sisters Claire Guerin and Lucille Mills, step father Horace Leclair, step brother Gerard LeClair and wife Cathy, sister-in-law Laura Preston, daughter-in-law Sandra Zeno and a special friend Alice Robinson.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Laura Norris and the Franklin County Home Health and Hospice team for their loving care and attention they afforded Mom.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lukes Catholic Church in Fairfax. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Luke Cemetery, Fairfax.
