SUMMARY OF CRASH:
 
On 5/18/17 at approximately 1144 hours, Williston VSP was made aware of a single vehicle crash on Pumpkin Harbor Road in Cambridge, VT. Upon Trooper's arrival Vehicle #1, a 2003 Subaru Outback was found in a position of uncontrolled rest facing south in a mostly dry creek bed. The vehicle was upright on all four tires. The car was just south of Forge Drive on the east side of Pumpkin Harbor Road. It was determined the vehicle traveled off of the east shoulder of Pumpkin Harbor Road, down an embankment, and through a creek bed before striking a bank where the creek turned west. Operator #1 who was identified by Vermont driver's license was pronounced dead at the scene. Operator #1 was the only occupant in the vehicle. Airbags did not deploy and a seat belt was being worn improperly.  The lap belt was secured with the shoulder belt behind the back. This accident is still under investigation and the press release will be updated once notifications have been made to family members.
