Mike Cain lays in his room and checks the menu for some dilacacies.  Sure seems good to see Mike back with his new kidney.  It has been a very long wait for him and whenever I talked about it with him in the past his big concern was that somebody might have to die so he could get a new kidney.  Those of you that know Mike, know that that is just the type of guy he is.

Word of warning Mike.  Lots of those things on that menu look delicious.  I ordered what I thought was, however I understand you are taking a lot of medications and the things you used to like may not taste as good any more.

The above photo was on Facebook and I know a number of you are not on Facebook and thought you would enjoy seeing what the New Mike Cain looks like.

Doctors are saying Monday or Tuesday. The numbers are looking great. The creatinine, the level of kidney function was 2.14 Friday. When I was diagnosed with kidney disease back in 2006, it was 2.3. Getting better. Made a lap around Baird 6 a while ago, then just went down an elevator to the first floor to a newspaper machine and got the last Free Press.

Mike, Did Dr. DiCarlo do your surgery? He did my surgery in April after I had a gallbladder surgery (done by a different Dr) that went very bad. The surgery took 10 hrs & he was an amazing Dr.  I just got back to work 2 wks ago after being out for 4 months.
So glad to hear you are doing so well.

Yes, Cat, Dr. DiCarlo was my surgeon. As my sister Margie was leaving the pre-op, we inquired as to how long the surgery would take. 4-6 hours was the reply. I was out in 3. Everything went smoothly.
