a family member reported that Doug Stewart passed peacefully at 10:30 last night. He had an amazing last day and he had his wit and humor right to the end. Thank you for all your prayers.

This is truly sad news. He was a very friendly good man. They don't make them like him anymore. He will surely be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Just remember all the good times you had with his big laugh.

Every time I walk on the community trails near the school I think of Doug and his hard work and commitment to making the trails beautiful and useful. Rest in peace, Doug.

A good friend & wonderful neighbor, always ready to help, always giving, always a smile & friendly hi, master electrician, hard worker, the list goes on, but most of all, a very kind hearted man who will be missed very much.  Prayers for his family.

I will miss seeing Doug in the front row at our basketball games.  I'm very fortunate to have known him.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Stewart family.

He had the tidiest vegetable gardens, neatest woodpiles, and best-kept yard in town...all the while creating and maintaining Fairfax's Community Hiking Path. He'll be missed by many for a long time.
