DESCRIPTION OF VEHICLE: 2004 Blue Escort

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Passenger side of vehicle damaged.

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE: Front end damage

INJURIES

V # 1 / Llyod Touchette / Enosburg, VT / 66 / SEAT BELT-Yes / Transported to Fletcher Allen for Head Injuries

V # 2 / Francis McCarthy / Fairfax, VT / 60 / SEAT BELT- Yes / Transported to North West Medical for minor injuries.

HOSPITAL: Fletcher Allen/ North West Medical                 

WEATHER: Cold/Over cast           

ROAD COND: Wet/Slushy

SUMMARY OF CRASH:

On this date, VSP responded to a two vehicle crash on RT 105 in Sheldon, VT. Upon arrival, medical was on-scene.

It appeared that the Ford Escort was traveling West on RT 105 when it lost control and slide sideways into the East bound traffic and collided with a Toyota Camry. Both operators were transported to the hospital.

The operator of the Escort was transported to Fletcher Allen in Burlington with head injuries. The operator of the Toyota was transported to North West Medical with minor injuries.

This crash is still being investigated. At this time alcohol/drugs do not appear to be contributing factors.

On 2/22/13, VSP was informed by the Medical Examiner's Office that Touchette was removed from life support  and had passed away from injuries.
