On April 18, 2012 the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a burglary on King Road in Fairfax.

Investigation revealed that the unoccupied home was entered forcibly and electronics and jewelry were removed from the residence.

The Sheriff’s Office is working in cooperation with the Vermont State Police in regards to similar burglaries in the area.

The Sheriff’s Office asks that all area residents keep their houses and property securely locked. Be suspicious of anyone who stops to ask for directions, assistance, etc. Report any suspicious activity-in-progress to 911. Be vigilant and observant – obtain license plate numbers if possible and vehicle descriptions. Do not open your door for anyone you don’t know.

If you have any information in reference to the recent crimes, please contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 802-524-2121.

As the parent of the the occupant of the King Road house that was burglarized, neighborhood watches must be organized.  This is the second time in four years that this house been hit.  And for that matter, when the house was under construction building equipment and lumber were stolen.  My daughter is no longer feeling safe in her home.  She is being driven out by drug crazed addicts, who exist by stealing from those who work hard.  How is an end going to be put these crimes?  Where's Clint Eastwood when you need him.

Three hundred bucks...cheaper and safer than a cheap gun, and Clint Eastwood.
This camera will send pictures to a hidden "black box". Even if the thief steals the camera, you should have his/her images.

A more expensive unit will send pictures to your cell or email.
