Georgia – Arnold W. “Buster” Rivers, 62, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, May 18, 2011 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans following complications from surgery.

Arnold was born on February 14, 1949 in Burlington, the son of Arnold Francis  Rivers and Eunice ( Gaudette ) Rivers.  On June 20, 1970, he married DiAnne Lynn Mazza at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Milton.
Buster was an avid collector of antique Farmall tractors.  He loved fixing and tinkering on them.  He took great joy in  riding his prize Farmall “A” in parades and tractor shows.  Buster was most proud of his extensive collection of toy tractors and antique tractor memorabilia.  He also enjoyed riding along with his son Aaron in his tractor trailers.

Buster had worked for Joyal Fuels for over 17 years, most recently as operations manager.

In addition to DiAnne, he is survived by his son Aaron Rivers and his wife Kelly of St. Albans and their children Emily, Robert, Jenna and Jonathan,  by his daughter Jeannie Langevin and her husband Allen of Champlain, NY and their children Jordan, Allyson and Ashley, by his sisters Pauline Barton of Milton, Donna Wagner and her husband Bruce of Richmond and his brother, Michael Rivers and friend Andrea of Concord, NH and by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 4pm in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.

Burial will follow in Sanderson’s Corners Cemetery.

Memorials in Buster’s memory may be made to the Georgia 1st Response, c/o Charlie Kuthe, 2573 Plains Road,  Georgia, VT. 05468 .
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday May 21st from 2-4pm in the Minor Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be made to www.minorfh.com .
