Got the following response when I checked out rumors of a break-in here on Main Street in Fairfax:

"Yes, we filed a report, my sons car was broken into in broad day light in our yard, he was asleep inside, they stole his computer, digital camera, and miscellaneous other items, they also attempted to break into the same window as last May, behind the house, there was a slit up the screen, but they must have gotten spooked off, because they did not get in..........yet."

I never leave my house without locking it and many times when I am there it is also locked, especially at night.  I don't have a heck of a lot people would want, but you never know.

We also lock everything up at my house, plus the dog, and I am blessed to have my father and aunt keeping an eye on my house when I am not there.
