I have noticed that when you post VSP reports from St. Johnsbury the names are left in the post.  What is the point of posting this type of news if you are going to delete the most important detail?

David it is out of respect for Dad's wishes that the website not create a conflict within the community is the answer to your question. Could be someone's loved one in the community and I am sure you will be able to receive this information on another web site, but it will not be here.

Mary,
I understand you dad's position regarding names & have respected this rule in my postings especially the ones where children are present.

It just seems that the posting in of itself could hurt the feelings of families involve b/c attention has been brought to the event which in turn may cause some to find out by other sources the individual who is involved.

Dave,  I won't spend a lot of time defending my ethics here on the forum, but am very proud of all the people that post on here who go along with my little quirks.  Even though you don't agree with me, I have to say that I have never had to edit anything you have posted.  In the past 6 years, there are only 3 people who I have had to ban from posting.

They felt it was their right to post whatever they wanted to and even after I contacted them, they reposted the same thing again.  I tried at one time to come up with a list of rules, etc. for people to follow, but found it was too difficult to cover everything, so I have the following up in my news box:

"Posts that, in my personal judgement, create too much conflict in the community, may be deleted - If members repost the same topic, they may be banned from future posts."

Now, I may be too cautious at times, but this is my town and you are all my neighbors and even with my monitoring, people still contact me and ask me to remove things, which I do without question, just to keep the peace.

I pay for this forum out of my own pocket and it is free for everyone to use.  I get a lot of satisfaction out of it and find it is a great way to communicate what is going on in the community, without always getting down to the nitty gritty details

Well Said Henry, I couldn't agree more on keeping the peace in our small comunity.

Henry,

Troy is my cousins son. He is a great kid with many talents. One talent is that my kids love him very much. We also use him for our sitter when the wife and I want to go out.

We are going to go see him on Saturday night for the show!!!

Oh yes!! Gotta see Troy in Willy Wonka.  He was amazingly funny last year in Beast.  He is also a talented musician--and quite the humorist.  I am sure the play, which runs through Saturday, with a Saturday matinee, will be a delightful experience!
