That area has had numerous car accidents due to low visability around the corner and over the bridge. Drivers should not have to also worry about dodging multiple cars parked half in the road. That is why businesses have parking lots. I care less about him having a business without permits, and more about the traffic hazards created by his location and parking of his customers...

Just have to ask... has the town weighed in on the guy acoss from steeple market that is constantly selling stuff on his lawn? I dont really care if he does it all year, but people parking all over the side of the road there makes a dangerous area even worse. Is there something the town can do to prevent all those people from parking on the side of the road? I am getting sick of dodging traffic in that stretch...

Glad the puppy turned out ok! Just a general word to the wise.... its a good idea to have you AND pets wear something in blaze orange when out in woods or fields during hunting seasons. Coyotes and deer dont wear orange vests...

I am truly sorry for negative experiences that these folks have experienced, as it is just plain wrong in this day and age. That said, i believe , if you always look at the world through the lenses of "I am black and everyone is treating me different because of it" than you will find very few positive interactions in your life. Self-fullfilling prophecy sometimes...

I lived on Fletcher Road for a year, and yes some cars go fast. Most, however go an appropriate speed. I don't follow the logic either folks. A very small number of people brought this issue forward, and it goes up for a vote. Now 5% of the town has to organize a signature drive to get it re-voted?
As a highly-traveled road it certainly effects a large number of people, both those who live in town and those who don't. Obviously, there are some spots that are not safe for a 50mph speed such as some of the corners. People tend to slow down for things like that, and they do. On their own. I don't think that making the entire road 40mph does anything other than make it easier to get a speeding ticket.
