General Discussion / Re: Snack survey in Fairfax?
« on: July 03, 2011, 07:47:11 PM »
I was wondering when fairfax became the Bronx.?  When it became necessary to use combative tactics to meet individuals at your front door?  Or bring a gun to the door when the boy scouts come around for a bottle drive?

I have also wondered why there were not move guardrails on river rd.  especially by the salvage yard on  this sharp corner and the corner on goosepond just up from the bridge.

being in law enforcement i entertained the individuals when they stopped by just to see what they were up to.  Same old scam they offer something to get in your home and are trying to sell vacuums.  Last time they brought a six pack of coke this time it was baked goods.  Traveling salesmen.

I have heard of a company that has employed individuals solely to provide surveys.

Current News & Events / native american civilization found in fairfax
« on: June 21, 2011, 09:49:01 PM »
Fox 44’s Steve Glazier spoke with Johnson State College students who uncovered what they believe to be an old Native American village in Fairfax, Vt., with items as old as 2,000 years. Tune in tonight at 10 to see some of the artifacts the students discovered.

Believe the location was at riverberry farm

Not to go in the wrong direction but my time spent in law school is that FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

Does not include withholding video surveillance of a public building as it is not a education record.

While reading this post it seems that BFA does have issues with Marijuana which it had when i attended.  I would like to know what the school thought of a School Resource Officer, a liaison postion with full law enforcement abilities to be stationed at the school.

I would like to know who called for assistance in the matter.  School or parent after the alleged assault.  Why would the school hinder the investigation if they made the intital complaint especially if it happened in a public building with security footage.  Were they trying to hide something???.  BfA St.albans is covered by a school resource officer from st. albans city pd.  I have always wondered why the fairfax has not applied for a school resource officer grant.  From what i have gathered the grant is mostly free.  Richford has applied for the grant and both Enosburg and St. Albans have a resource officer.

If you can id the operator and are willing to give a written statement law enforcement can issue  many traffic violations.

Political Issues/Comments / Re: ignition interlock device

The only issue with the law I have is those that have been arrested for dui are not always convicted of dui it is dropped to neg operation.  What about drug dui.  Could it be if you are charged with dui and plea it is mandatory to install interlock devices in all vehicles available to the offender especially if the plea is to neg operation.

Last time i spoke to Whitcomb paving they were scheduled to repave 104 from sam webb to the cambridge line and 128 from where they stopped into essex by the school.  But that all depends on budgets.

If i remember correctly 104 was scheduled to begin first.

I have to agree.  Eventhough i believe the restraunt is in his daughter's name.  After seeing sam's name in the paper and on the news i will have a hard time supporting him.  There are many new restraunts in st.albans and i want to try them all.  I do miss the farmhouse breakfest.

To travel that far would have to mean that the operator was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed.  By the frost on the windows my guess is that the vehicle was left there overnight.  It will be interesting if the operator is found and charged with leaving a scene of an accident.
