I know the protocol that we all must follow to keep ourselves and others safe, I was unable to get a license plate # because I have a back injury and was on the top floor of my house. The car was a Pontiac vibe.  I thought either they were Salesmen of some sort or LauriH, someone to save my soul. Either way I didn't want to be bothered.

Anyone else have a small silver car with three people in it knock on your door today, I was not able to answer my door and wasn't to sure I wanted to.  Just curious what they may have wanted.  2 weeks ago a larger maroon car came and had 2 ladies in it.  One of the people that came today was one of the ladies from before.

Thanks

General Discussion / Vandalism

I Was just wondering if anyone up in the Fletcher area around School Rd, experienced any vandalism to their vehicles. Went out side this morning to the back glass in my Jeep being smashed out.  What a great way to end the weekend :(

don't forget some of the people that buy these and don't use them or misplace them and find them after they expire. That's a win because the customer spent the money  for the coupon but didn't get the free product.

Broken pipe leaves Charlotte students out in the cold

The Charlotte Central School is reevaluating its evacuation policy after students were forced to stand out in the cold Tuesday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., the fire alarms in the building went off when water started flowing from a broken pipe. Under school policy, the 470 students at the pre-K through eighth-grade school were immediately evacuated to the athletic field behind the building. The snow on the field is about a foot deep. Most students were not prepared to stand outside in the deep snow or in the cold for an extended period of time.

As a precaution, 25 students were checked out for exposure to the cold.

"My colleague, our co-principal, Greg Marino, myself and my team will look at this, we will debrief after the incident, and look at this to see how we can improve the process based on the cold weather," said Audrey Boutaugh, the co-principal at Charlotte Central School.

None of the students who were checked out for exposure needed any medical treatment.

Classes and all events at the school were canceled for the rest of the day while the water pipes are repaired.

Reviews / Re: Anyone have Surfglobal or Globalnet ?
« on: September 15, 2010, 01:17:55 PM »
We had GlobalNet installed on Monday and we have had no problems so far. We had dial up before this, so in January we decided to go with wildblue, we rec'd our equipment but when the installer arrived we couldn't get a signal. So We returned the equipment for a refund. It took until August and 10 phone calls for them to refund our 99.95 we put down.  After we rec'd the refund they turned around and withdrew the 99.95 again still waiting for that refund. Their customer service is terrible. We went with hughes net instead. Even though it was better then dial up, we really couldn't do what we wanted to online because of their download usage limit.  We still have Hughes net because of the contract we entered but we downgraded to their lowest package and picked up Globalnet. We are saving money with having both and are very happy we are able to do whatever we want on the internet.
