Yes - they actually posted a link here to the meeting in which certain board members apolgized to Julie and stated they weren't aware of the request for her to move away from the table..... but when one goes to play the minutes of the meeting from the site it's housed on - an error message regarding the server not being found pops up.
If the claim of someone apolgizing from the baord is true, then it begs the question - WHO actually was behind the request for her to be moved away from the table?

As for written complaints, i ask again - where do you think these would be kept and how would obtain them?  I'm not trying to be difficult, I see your point that a public entities minutes and records should be available to the public.

Other documented issues?  How would they be documented I ask - as the administration considers issues with Employees confidential - they'll never release any information as they hide behind that confidentiality claim.  I'm sure there are MANY incidents over the years, especially with Mr. Kirsch.  I personally know of a few where decisions were made based on the comments/opinions of a few local parents that some how became the embodiment of how the whole commuity felt and the board, made employment decisions based on the opinions of those few parents.  Funny though, any other offering differing opinions of the issue were told it was a confidential issue and they couldn't talk about it.  see how this works yet.  I do believe there's a term for this pattern of behavior - it's called 'good ole boy network'.  I've been told by other folks in town that they have had similar 'run-ins' and have had no recourse either that 'it's the politics of a small town'.  I say that's b.s.  This sort of crap should've went out of style along with mullets and lamb chop sideburns........ but alas here we are.

Unfortunately, as Julie stated, this behavior isn't new at BFA.  I know of other situations concerning the Superintendent that did certainly deserved attention and comment, and the fact neither occurred, displayed bias and catering to 'special interests' in town.  As I discovered in some of those instances, there's no recourse when decisions have been made.  There's no amount of public condemnation, short of mass demonstration ( we haven't seen in Fairfax, but it seems to work in other schools), that will even garner a response, much less a second look or more indepth consideration.
I sincerely feel bad for Mrs. Filberti.  I briefly worked with her kids and in my limited interactions with her, I foudn her to be a kind, caring parent and individual.  I do hope folks in Fairfax step up in her defense and uncharacterisitically demand some answers from Mr. Kirsch and the board.  Even if they're not the ones we want, at least we'll have an idea of how to move forward.

you said it yourself - oil drives our economy... and where is our economy?  where is the world economy?

Oil alone can't be blamed - a consumer/consumption based society and thus economy is the a major culprit.  As Oil will run out, so will many other resources..... it's not hard math to see that with the world population growing, and those new millions every year needing a piece of what everyone else has - resource consumption will increases as well.  We already have been consuming more wood than we can replenish over the last 200 years.
Call me an ultra-futurist if you want, but we need more than a 'new energy source' to cure our ils as a species.  We need a moral and psychological wake-up call on a global scale.  where do we really want to be in 50 years and what current cultural and societal behaviors will help us/ hinder us from getting there?  What is the road there?  What do we, as a species, truly value ... what is truly important at the end of the day to us?  Is it being able to watch the Voice?  Survivor?  The Amazing Race?  Reality shows?  watching others live their lives from the comfort of our couches?  I'm stuck in the rut too - as it's what's bred into our culture these days.  and where will it lead?

Unfortunately, the answer is NOT 'let's find more oil to satiate the countrys dependance on it."  OIL will run out - whether here or somewhere else.  Those who embrace this and prepare adequately, will be stabile where others will feel the pain of higher and higher prices.

there's a section for young kids - it's more of a fun area - really isn't any scary stuff in there.

On the way to work, saw some blue lights and the guardrails ripped off the bridge ont he right side.  Further up the road, i think i saw the culprit - Trucks haulign the Turbine Blades.  Ouch - wonder who picks up the tab for that - the Trubine company right?

Still need at least one head coach/coachign staff for 3--4 grade girls.  We'll have a substitute coach there this friday to talk to parents about the need for coaches and to conduct the first practice.  If we can't find at least one coaching staff, we'll be forced to cancel the season for 3-4 girls ( which has never happened)
If, by chance, there's hurrican-like conditions with rain, or lightning - practice will be postponed to the follwing tuesday.

I'm saddened to announce that someone with a four wheeler has vandalized the Soccer Fields at Flethcer Elementary school.  Some may recall about 4 years ago there was a sapt of damage done at least once a week there.  The soccer club petitioned the School board for security cameras.  They also were able to secure a significant donation in time and services of then New transplat to the area, Tom Ferrick to erect fencing.

The vandalism has created a signficant safety issue for useage of the field thus useage by club activities cannot occur before the damages have been addressed.  Anyone with information regarding who did the damage should contact either Fletcher Elementary or Club President Dan Banach.  You can also send me a private message here on the forums and i can direct you or your information to the correct person(s).  If so desired, this can be confidential.

With the season starting next week, this poses a major obstacle for the the ontime start of the season and will affect at least 200 kids in one way or another.  If you heard, saw, or know anything about 4 wheelers in the area of Fletcher in the last 5 nights please contact us as soon as you can.
