Current News & Events / Re: Fairfax Fire Department Staffing
« on: February 27, 2012, 10:58:46 PM »
Like it or not, it sounds like a done deal to me!  This year one salary of $50,000 and next year two more salaries at $55,000 plus benefits and don't forget they want UNIFORMS and most likely it will be in the budget with DRY CLEANING services also!

I still don't get it .... if the property that is on Fire has insurance why don't they reimburse the Town for the expense of the Truck and resources used?  Just wondering .....

If I could vote on this I would vote NO just because we are not ST. Albans and we have a good volunteer team and good people who would make time to help during the day if there were a fire!   But it sounds like the Selectboard fixed it so that I can't vote for it at all .... it is all or nothing!

I hope Winooski rethinks this one!  If anyone can help Winooski, it would be Justin Brown!

After reading what Upsy wrote about the State Statue, then what has been Resectfully submitted by our school representatives is ... incorrect!  Very Interesting -

I do recall that article and a few years being clarified as an illegal article.

Well, well, well .... if the Selectboard and the Principal are in support of keeping the Buses local, WHY then is it being discussed?  This makes me really wonder .... anyone else wondering?

OMG ....

Have an action plan in the event of an intruder!  Are they saying for the home owner to RUN or hide in their own home?  Shoot them and my back up plan is to continue shooting until I run out of bullets if they are in my house -  that is my plan.

Yup, you are right!  This is what a community watch does and usually during the daylight hours retirees or stay at home mom's do see more than you realize.  You just need to ask them and living in a Bedroom Community it doesn't come easy doing so.

Why can't neighbors just look out for each other?  In our part of town when we see a strange car and we are out site, we waive just to let them know we see them or get in the car and drive down the road to see who that person is who is walking just to get a better look at them.  One of my neighbor's did just that then asked the  person for their name and where they lived and what business did they have in our area?  You can ask, doesn't mean they will tell the truth but if they know someone is watching, they wont be back!

Best investment of $99.00 .... Hunter's Trail Cam.   Place it an an area outside (usually a tree) and then you can download hundred of photos onto your computer.  Then you will know who  was in your drive way!  I got one to spy on my dogs but it worked well to see our neighbor's 51-year-old son teasing our dogs - we were truly surprised!  Good luck with finding those who broke in to the house.

I vote for the gun over an alarm system!  In the event of an intruder, I want action not noise but that is just me.

Gee, I would be so surprised if the owner of that particular building wasn't suddenly OVER Insured, just recently!

What is the condition of the driver of the ATV?

Sounds like the BFA Fairfax Bus Driver thing all over again!  Depends on who it is ... before the School will involve outside help!  Perhaps this will change sometime in the future.

Tax Day will be here soon!  Today a Pavilion; tomorrow a Restroom; last year a bus; and the park; then the Fee's that go along with with cleaning, repairing and yes replacing .... REMEMBER the park benches floating in the river?  This is what increases your tax dollar but hey it's FREE Money!  Think that one through in two years when you can't pay for that FREE Grant money's grass cutting or security or water bill!  This is just one reason why the Senior's can't stay in their homes!
