General Discussion / Re: New Scam Alert

Yes, we had same message 2 x on answering machine.  States that we already paid for our medical alert system and they want to arrange shipping of it.  They provide call back #.  We did not call back as it was clearly a scam.

I love how they won't answer the big question of "how many people are laid off in VT facility".  Pretty sure it's more than the "121 nationwide" we're hearing.

Is this BFA Fairfax?  Or St. Albans?  As an alumni of BFA-St. Albans whose children attend BFA-Fairfax when I just see BFA I immediately think St. Albans.

It's not just Fairfax - $3.69 in St. Albans & Swanton as well.

Definitely, vtredhead.

If you have ever had the need for the services of an ambulance you know that every minute counts.  Depending on the emergency, waiting for an ambulance to come from St. Albans (or wherever) versus having one come from in town can mean the difference between life and death.  Is it really worth complaining over $1,700!  I can think of many more ways to save the town money that don't involve taking away from our much needed rescue squad.

And also remember that if you did not have Fairfax Rescue and taxpayers did not pay the amount they do each year to them (regardless of increase) that you would in fact pay MORE $$ to another service.  And another service would in fact be even less a part of our town!  Not sure that people realize what a benefit it is to have our own service in town.  Both fiscally and convenience wise.

That's great!  The more donations the less $$ that will need to be spent on furnishings.

Not sure that when it comes to my loved ones I would want to rely on something that was "rigged up" to transport them to the hospital in time of an emergency.  I also believe that having 2 ambulances allows for our rescue crew to respond to multiple scenes at the same time.  Having a scanner in my home I know that this does happen on occasion.  I also do not believe that if my loved one was the 2nd call and there was no 2nd ambulance in town that I would want to wait for an out of town squad to respond.
