My wife looked it up and it's a Long Billed Dowitcher and shouldn't even be in this area.

For those not following the Fairfax Neighborhood Watch Group on Facebook....I just posted this:

Neighbors, I just received word that FCSO has arrested three juveniles in connection with the BB gun vandalism in our area. Due to the monetary amount of damage, they are being charged with felonies. Being juveniles, their names will be withheld. A press release regarding this will be out in the next few days.

The title pretty much says it all.

I'm proudly helping Josh with the Facebook Group he created for the Fairfax "online" community to share information about suspicious/illegal activity in Fairfax.

Go outside, put your hand over the sun and look past your hand. There's millions of pieces of fluff flying around. My 9 yr old daughter informed me that they are from the Poplar trees.

Looks like they are starting the paving project slated in 2012 budget forecast. There's surveyors all over and already marks all over the road.
Woods Hollow and Old Stage to Westford/Milton Rd are gunna stink with all the extra traffic.

I'm sure someone from the FD/Rescue will post something more informative, but I saw today at work (IBM) ... that IBM has donated $10,000 to Fairfax EMS for e911 signs for all residences in Fairfax, and our surrounding towns.

We had some major winds, downpour (gutters couldn't keep up), and some pea sized hail on Snowcrest Road.



Not more than 60 seconds later....



3 seconds after the last pic was taken I had to run inside as it was coming down. Sorry about the grainy pics...I didn't have time to set the ISO.

Lucky this time, no limbs down, and just a 5 second power outage.

More specifically, the indoor pistol range of SCFC or the outside one of URGC.

I'm looking for a place to shoot pistols.

Minors is not able to sell any alcohol today due to a 1 day sting suspension. They said they passed the sting, but one employees training records were expired.

General Discussion / Fairpoint in North Fairfax? (Internet query)

We're up in the "Windtop Estates" (just before the Interstate overpass) and are currently using SurfGlobal/Globalnet as our internet service provider.

Fairpoint says that we can now get a (up to) 3 mbps service for the same price that we're paying Globalnet for 2. The average bandwidth that I get from Globalnet on a clear day is 1.2 mbps.

Is there anyone in the Northern end of town that has Fairpoint and knows what they get for REAL connection speed? You can check at http://speedtest.net

Any replies are appreciated....just curious if you're satisfied with what you're getting....and the actual speed in this area compared to the advertised speed.

I woke up this morning and thought someone was burning trash. I found out it was the wildfires burning in Quebec. The winds shifted and it's blowing everything down here.
