Current News & Events / Re: Please Keep Roads and Driveways Cleared
« on: January 04, 2013, 11:18:18 AM »
With a house fire minutes count, having to wait for any plow vehicle to clear the path means the house is gone. There are a bunch of PRIVATE driveways in town that are very narrow, steep, 1/2 to 1 mile long  and twisty I doubt some could get a town truck up to plow. Where available and able the town crew has always worked hand in hand with the Fire dept be it to open up a road or drop sand to cover ice.

Number 1 rule to remember it is your emergency if rescue or fire can not get to you we can not help.

yes very fortunate, we have a 4 wheeler with tracks (calcutta money put to good use) and a rescue sled donated bu Fletcher rough riders). Patient was around 3 miles back in the woods. It was a hunter whos tree stand had let looose and he fell 20'.

friendly reminder if you are going to hunt from a stand, wear a safety harness. I DO NOT GET IN A STAND WITHOUT ONE.

i wish I had village water / sewer.

Putting in your own with the current state designs can run $10,000 to $20,000 just for sewer and you are the one that has to take care of any issues. $600 a year and I can call someone else with any issues !!! Sounds like a good deal

At this point NO NEW products can be used with any lead . However any products now in use with lead soldier are still allowed to be used. They have been doing testing on syrup for years for lead content, syrup made on english tin pans (lead in metal and lead soldier) do not come back with high lead counts. ALL syrup has some lead in it, it is a natural mineral in the ground everywhere.

As i hear what they are looking at now is that a food product is being made and good practices should be followed. More at the packing house level at this time. In turn packing house's are asking there producers to follow some guidliens to insure a safe product.
