Title: CVU 19, BFA 13
Post by: Fairfax_Rick on September 08, 2007, 03:34:33 PM
Brief synopsis in Sports section of www.Fairfaxbreeze.com (http://www.Fairfaxbreeze.com)

Again, very close game, could have gone either way. As Coach Williams said, this team is too good to be 0-2. They will turn it around.

An important point to mention concerning this particular game is that two key players, both seniors and starters were injured in the first half (at about the same time) and were taken to the hospital.  BFA tied the score after the injuries, then the quarterback  took a hit and came out of the game for awhile, then went back in on defense for the remainder. CVU didn't break the tie immediately, it took a little doing. The final score does not reflect, for either team,  that BFA was missing three of its first string offense in the second half. Unfortunately, in these circumstances, it's not how you look playing the game, it's whether or not you win or lose.

All good points, Mirjo. They will be addressed in a more comprehensive report in this week's Breeze. - rick
