Interstate 89, US Route 2 Traffic Delayed in Both Directions Due to Downed Powerlines

WATERBURY, VT - Interstate 89 and US Route 2, is now closed in both directions, at mile marker 69 at Bolton Flats due to a downed power line. Members from the Vermont State Police, AOT, and Green Mountain Power are on scene assessing the situation.

Traffic will be stopped at Exit 11 southbound in Richmond; and Exit 10 northbound at Waterbury. At this time there is no detour.

Emergency crews request the cooperation and patience of motorists while they work diligently to reopen the interstate and road, as soon as possible.

The Interstate 89 southbound is open for normal travel. An update will be sent as soon as more information is available.
