Title: Looking For Tax Preparers For Non Seniors
Post by: Henry on January 28, 2010, 01:17:05 PM
I have received several notes asking me if I knew anyone who did tax preparing that was reasonable.  If you know of anyone, let me know at vtgrandpa@yahoo.com or post it here.  These are questions from non seniors, so the AARP person mentioned here would not apply.

Hi Henry,
The AARP folks will prepare taxes for lower income folks too.  There is also VITA, maybe at Champlain College.  EOE does them too.

A few years ago I was a volunteer tax-preparer at Franklin/Grand Isle Community Action, next to Subway in St. Albans. They will prepare taxes for low-income individuals. However, they do not itemize or prepare schedules. Just 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, VT State taxes and accompanying state forms for renter deductions, etc. Not sure if they still do it. Call 527-7392 for more info.
