Catamount Stadium 1986-Stub Fadden and Bobby Dragon

OLD FRIENDS
In the past few days I lost a couple of old friends.
Gordie Gillilan passed away. Great man. Always had some kind of hat on. For the longest time he always had a hard hat on. Almost didn't recognize him when I saw him without it once. Didn't realize he actually had hair underneath the hard hat. He was a regular down at the old Berardinelli's General Store.

Stub Fadden passed away Wednesday. Stubby drove the #16 on the old NASCAR North series. Never remember any controversy surrounding the guy. Always drove clean. Everyone was happy to see him win a race.
Somewhere, somewhere, in all my mess, I have pictures of him after he won the 300 at Catamount in 1986. There is one of his crew member congratulating him as he was climbing out of the car. I think it might have been Frankie Stoddard, who went on to greatness being Jeff Burton's chef wrench in the Cup series.

It's always sad when you lose older friends. Just a reminder that you are getting older as well.
