Many of you know Karyn here at the library as our wonderful Program Planner. Well, Karyn is going back to school! We are very sorry to see her leave this position, but wish her all the best of course. We'll miss her cheerfulness and her great programming for the library.

Fairfax Community Library Job Opening
Part-time Program Planner

The Fairfax Community Library seeks an outgoing and creative candidate for a 12 hour per week, year-round position planning programs for all ages that nourish curiosity, learning and community.   The successful candidate will work closely with the town librarian, as well as collaborate with other groups in the community.

As Program planner:  After school/evening hours (Tuesday and Thursday), and an occasional Saturday are required.  Key proficiencies will include:  excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organization, ability to plan ahead, creative thinking, familiarity with social media, ability to produce fliers, calendars, news releases, and other PR material.  Some experience with office software helpful, and the ability to work with a variety of ages with good cheer is essential.  Up to 1/3 of the hours may be done from home if desired and when appropriate.
