Title: Chittenden County Food Shelf Stops Giving Out Rat Poison
Post by: Henry on October 28, 2009, 10:16:40 AM
The Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf has stopped giving out rat poison after there was some confusion about its packaging.

Organizers say the poison comes in a bag similar to halloween candy.

They say it's not unusual to hand out such a household product.

But this one looks different and they want people to read the packaging carefully.

"It say kills mice and rats but if there are some english language challenges then it might be a little more difficult because there's no poison icon like there normally is on this kind of product," said Rachel Moss from the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.

There have been no reports of anyone eating the rat poison which has been pulled from the pantry's shelves.
