St. Albans City Muster team last summer. This year's VSFA Convention will be in Bennington August 14-16.

UPDATES
After calling Fairpoint, I can now log in and edit my website. Strangely, there was no blog, but when I went to it normally, there was. I will investigate further to make sure everything is A-OK.
In the meantime, I am still here.

Empire Super Sprints posted their tentitive 2009 schedule. Season starts Memorial Day weekend Saturday night at Fonda Speedway and then Sunday at Utica Rome. A few more dates are being worked out.

I mentioned something last week but never fully explained.
I am now old.
And I am not even 50 yet.
Last week, I went in and talked to a couple of First Grade classes about what school was like when I was in 1st grade.
Some 42 years ago.
Lyndon Johnson was President.
The current High School, Middle School, and Elementary wings were not built yet.
I do remember a bathroom in the first grade classroom. One kid thought we had a Port-a-Potty or outhouse.
"No, we had indoor plumbing back then."
"What did you do for lights?"
"Um, we had electricity back then."
We used to play King of the Mountain on the snowbanks at recess. Not anymore.
The last building on the street was the school. No senior housing. No sewer plant. No houses down in the woods.
"Did you have markers?"
We had crayons. Don't remember markers. We didn't really have PE or Art like they do now.
I'm going out on a limb and say their reading level in 1st grade is much more advanced than when I was in school.
A lot has changed.
