Title: FXFD Training with Res-Q-Jacks 7/10/10
Post by: MikeF9 on July 12, 2010, 06:54:44 PM
The Fairfax Fire Department held a training session Saturday July 10, 2010 at Fairfax Salvage and Repair. The training was vehicle stabilization by use of Res-Q-Jacks. Sometimes you get to the scene of an accident and the vehicle is in a postion where it is not safe to extricate an injured person. The Res-Q-Jacks will stabilize the car so then extrication can be performed and Fairfax Rescue can attend to the patient in a safe environment.
The department purchased a set using money raised at the 2009 Calcutta. Kevin O'Brien of the Burlington Fire Department was the instructer. Many thanks to Kevin and to Fairfax Salvage for the space and vehicles to train with.
