Title: Robert Earl King, Sr. Dies At Age 87

Robert E. King, Sr.

Fairfax - Robert Earl King, Sr. 87, passed away at St. Albans Health and Rehab on August 13, 2012.  He was born in Fairfax, VT on April 10, 1925 son of the late Ralph and Glenda (Greenwood) King.  Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing. Robert also enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He was a humorous person and loved to make people laugh. He was a great person, caring and a loving father and husband. I will always remember the times when he would sit and talk about the time he was in Korea fighting the civil war. Robert enjoyed talking about the weapons that were used in the war. He would sit for hours and look at old books from the war and try to get the kids to read them, he would say "this is good information for you to learn that someday you may be able to use. Robert was funny and kind hearted to everyone that new him. Robert will be missed dearly and never forgotten.  You will always be in our hearts.

He is survived by:  his loving wife Virginia (Murray) King of Burlington; his son Ronald King of Richmond; three step daughters Tammy Gaudette and husband Robert of Milton; Mary Littleton and husband Kenneth of Milton; Brenda Leroux of Plattsburgh, NY; three brothers James, Frederick and Roland; two sisters Alberta and Althea; eleven step grandchildren; twelve step great grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by a son Robert King, Jr.; a daughter Rosemarie King and infant twins.

Visiting hours will be held at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel, 1176 Main Street, Fairfax on Friday August 17, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Elizabeth Griffin officiating.  Burial will follow in the family lot in Sanderson Corners Cemetery, Fairfax.  Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW, Post 6689, 73 Pearl Street, Essex Jct., VT 05452.  The family invites you to share your memories and online condolences by visiting www.awrichfuneralhomes.com (http://www.awrichfuneralhomes.com).
