Hi Everyone,
I’m wondering if the safety of intersection 104A with 104 has ever been assessed. During rush hour traffic it can be intimidating to make a left hand turn from 104A onto 104 across traffic traveling at 50+mph in both directions. Although I’m not aware of accidents there, one at those speeds would be very detrimental. The issue worsens when people turning right double up next to you blocking your view of oncoming traffic.
This is my family’s daily commute and I would love for it to be safer.

Does anyone know if this sort of analysis has ever been done for the 104 side?

Yes it is a dangerous place & many accidents have happened there. Not sure but most likely a study or studies have been done there; not too many years back the road was widened there, maybe in hopes to help, BUT, people just need to slow down & use caution. You will get used to it. Just as an FYI, be ready for winter as it's also a slippery place!

Note that at night it is nearly impossible to find the turn entering from the north onto 104A, left turn. A street light would aid making the turn.

The intersection of 104 and 105 is similar and it has a light. It would be nice to have something like that at this one, or at least a speed limit less than 50mph...

I agree with a light. Speed limits aren't going to slow traffic. Don't know the cost of one with 3 sensors, but think that would be the best

The latest study of 104/104A was completed in 2005 and can be found on the Northwest Regional Planing Commission website or by using the link below to open the engineering study.
The PDF file is 97 pages in length, and contains a ton of data collected along the corridor.
