Title: Missing - 260,000 Eggs
Post by: Henry on December 18, 2008, 09:36:41 AM
Authorities throughout New England are looking for an unmarked truck hauling eggs without the proper paperwork.

Police are investigating the theft of nearly 260,000 eggs from a Maine egg farm.  An estimated 259,200 eggs, stacked on 24 pallets and worth about $25,000, were stolen from the Quality Egg Farm of New England in two separate incidents.

What in Heaven's name would somebody want with 260,000 eggs???  Click on the link below to read the story on Fox 44 -

Henry                              This reminds me of the year in the late 60's or early 70's when the Dragon brothers from  Ripton allegedly " borrowed " a  fully packed Seafood Truck from somewhere in Southern NE and, after getting rid of the manifest,  later buried it with a backhoe  in Ripton.  I believe they were defended by Peter Langrock  and served little if any time !!!

WDEV in Waterbury had Peter Langrock as a guest today.  I wish I would had known about this. I would have called in!

Is this at all related to the Country Pantry serving breakfast all day long?  (Which is a great idea by the way!)

Brian   If memory serves me correctly, Peter Langrock wrote a book discussing his career and this story is in one of his chapters.
Probably the local library could find it under the Vermont Authors Category or maybe peter has his own website.  Hope your family is well.    Dick
